About Us

The Mobile was established in 1987 and is one of the most exciting and innovative projects in early childhood education providing an educational service to isolated families in outback areas.

A major object of the service is to relieve disadvantage and isolation and provide assistance to young children, 0 - 12 years, in geographically isolated circumstances. The field staff operate an integrated educational, developmental, social, support, network and resource service for children and families.

The monthly program is carefully planned with flexibility to meet individual and group needs. It can also include visiting specialists, community events and Toy Library.

Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile Inc. is governed by an Incorporated Association Management Committee.

The Mobile is managed and operated by a team of professional staff consisting of Administration and Children’s Services employees.

Any families eligible to use the Service may request a enrolment form. An annual membership fee is applied. Membership is not restricted to families, community members are most welcome. Children are required to be enrolled to attend the service.

The Mobile attends central venues in remote North West NSW and South West QLD covering an area of 36,000 square kilometres, about the area of Tasmania. The area is statistically the most isolated region in NSW.

The areas visited by the Mobile include:
NSW: Wanaaring, North Louth, Tilpa, North White Cliffs, Fords Bridge.
QLD: Thargomindah, Hungerford, Cunnamulla, Eulo, Yowah and Noorama.

These areas remain flexible depending on enrolments.
